Style

We like publishers’ quotes and apostrophes for human-readable text. It’s not going to be perfect, but please, if you have it, serve it with UTF-8 so at least it’s legible.

This is a "computer literal string", and obviously it doesn’t end with a period or comma, unless the punctuation itself is part of the string.
“I speak English,” (or, “I’m educated and I speak English” [1].)
